Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market
The Matlosana National Fresh Produce Market is the only fresh produce market in the North West Province. Established in 1979, it has grown to become the 8th largest fresh produce market in South Africa by turnover.
The market provides a transparent, competitive trading platform for both commercial and emerging farmers to sell fresh fruits and vegetables through appointed market agents.
Market Operations
Trading is conducted through market agents on a commission basis. Prices are determined by supply and demand, quality, and seasonal availability, in line with the Agricultural Product Standards Act (Act 119 of 1990).
Buyer's Card System
Buyers deposit funds into a secure market account before trading, reducing cash handling risks and improving efficiency.
